Eugenia, a social worker, contacted me to help her design her home office. She specializes in working with children with ADD and OCD and wants a space that is beautiful, warm, and inviting for the children and their families. Eugenia does not want her office to look like a typical office, but rather loves the ‘Shabby Chic’ look and wants an office that reflects this cozy, charming style.
We are halfway through the project: wallpaper has been purchased, carpet installed, chandelier hung, and much of the furniture purchased. We are now shopping for accessories and the finishing touches to make this room extra special.
The focal point of the room is this amazing wallpaper called Orchard Blossom from Nina Campbell, a designer only source. Eugenia loves pink, so the color palette was perfect, and we both fell in love with the striking design.
We wanted a mini chandelier and were thrilled to find this one for such an amazing price, only $99.99 at Lowe’s.
For a client chair, we found this vintage cane barrel chair at www.somewhere-in-timeonline.com.
The chair will be reupholstered in a french inspired scripted fabric. I purchased the fabric at a local fabric discounter, The Barn in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I could not find a photo of the fabric, but this is a similar fabric from Ballard Design.Additional client seating will be a settee that Eugenia already has in her home. We will accessorize the settee with this decorative pillow from Pom Pom at Home, purchased at Palooza in Fairfield, CT. The settee will be reupholstered in the matching flax colored fabric.
Eugenia’s chair will be reupholstered in this pale pink linen fabric from Duralee. We are also going to use this fabric for trim on the settee. The window will be covered in this soft, ruffled drapery from Bella Notte, also purchased at Palooza in Fairfield, CT.
The room really looks beautiful, and I am so excited about how it is turning out. Stay tuned for the final reveal!
